Sabah Manufacturers Seek Business Advice to Survive the Crisis

Date Published: August 04, 2020

A survey of manufacturers in Sabah showed orders and revenues declined up to 50% this year because of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis. They also identified what kind of assistance they need to survive in the next 6 months.

The survey was conducted by the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) Sabah.

A report from The Borneo Post said 83% of the 45 survey respondents need advice on government incentives, assistance, and grants. Half of them are seeking help with continuity planning and diversification of products and sales. More than 30% of respondents also mentioned online training for business managers and workers, legal advice on labor laws, and advice on export and logistics restrictions and requirements.
