What is Vision 2025?

Since its creation in 1994, BIMP-EAGA has been a highly effective mechanism for member countries to accelerate social and economic development in remote and less developed areas. 

Now, as new trends and challenges emerge both regionally and globally, the organization has drawn up a blueprint for keeping itself relevant, going forward. It aspires to become resilient, inclusive, sustainable, and economically competitive.

Promoting BIMP-EAGA as a single destination with world-class ecotourism facilities and services will increase the viability of air, sea, and land linkages in the subregion.

Enhancing connectivity will make it easier and faster to travel within and outside BIMP-EAGA, improve the flow of goods and services, create a conducive business climate, and raise the quality of life of local communities.

Establishing BIMP-EAGA as a food basket in ASEAN and the rest of Asia entails integrating the agro-industry and fisheries sectors and developing supply and value chains throughout the subregion.
